THE YORK College softball team rolled to an 8-0 win over Widener University in the first game of a scheduled MAC Commonwealth doubleheader in York on Saturday afternoon.
The second game was postponed after a lengthy delay due to lightening and heavy rain.
The Spartans needed the win; it snapped a four-game losing streak.
Amanda Criss (7-6) earned the win for the Spartans, giving up just three hits in six innings.
The offensive stars included Morgan Sauers (3-for-4, 2 runs, double), Alyssa Harhigh (3-for-4, 2 runs, 2 RBI, double) and Daphney Adams (2-for-2, 1 run, 2 RBI, double).

York College improved to 13-18 (6-5 MACC) while Widener fell to 14-19 (3-8 MACC).
The Spartans are scheduled to host the University of Scranton in a non-conference doubleheader at Spartan Stadium on Sunday. Game one is scheduled for a 2:00 pm start. The make-up date for the Widener game will be announced in the next 24 hours, the story on the website said.
