FINDING a good pizza place in York can be difficult. A lot of us as students end up ordering from Domino’s or another chain restaurant. However, supporting small businesses is important, and these places tend to offer better quality. Below is a list of what pizza places we’d recommend.
7 S. George St #1406, York, 3149 Cape Horn Road, Red Lion, or 500 Hellam St., Wrightsville
This pizza place has a wide variety of Italian dishes at a very reasonable cost. However, their pizza is by far their best dish. It can come with three different crust options and a bunch of different specialty pizzas. It feels like you’re in New York due to the quality, and if you walk in you can grab a business card that gets you a free hour of bowling. This place has a 4.4 star rating on Google and the reviews reflect the good customer service and clean environment as well as some of their other popular dishes such as their Philly cheesesteaks.

240 S George St., York, is the location closest to the college.
Pizza Boli’s has a 3.8 star rating and is a well-loved pizza place. They do work with Grubhub so you can easily order delivery. They also have a wide menu and offer a wide range of toppings including gyro meat and four different types of crust. This place is also only “1 dollar sign” so it should be pretty affordable. The reviews rave about the customer service and the price. They also rave about their onion rings. There tends to be a wait and it isn’t in the best area, but if you’re looking for a late-night meal, they are open at that hour and do the job.
939 Loucks Road, York
This pizza place is family-owned and operated, having only one location. They offer a wide range of food and are very proud of their stromboli. This has earned them a 4.4 star rating on Google. One of the main things customers rave about is their fresh-baked bread used for their subs. Some people go out of their way to order from here. They also have jalapeno poppers, an unusual menu item for a pizza place around here. It is worth checking out and you’d be supporting a small business.
840 Carlisle Road, York
This place offers a well-made calzone along with a wide range of appetizers and other entrees. They have both traditional and specialty pizzas. They have a 4.5 star rating on Google with over 1,300 reviews, an impressive feat. The owner seems to spend time at the restaurant making sure that the customers are given good quality pizza and that the customer service is memorable. They use fresh ingredients, and one reviewer even says “…puts Papa Johns and Domino’s to shame” with their fast service.

996 S. George St., York
This restaurant is located right around the corner from Main Campus. They offer pastries and quiches along with their pizza and I’ve personally heard multiple people say that it is their favorite place to go. This place has a 4.8 star rating and their prices are amazing with an $18 14-inch meat lovers pizza and a nice selection of food including burgers and other sandwiches.
