With Black History Month Underway, the Owning My Blackness Organization (OMB) founded on York College’s Campus is hosting multiple events throughout the month to help educate, advocate, and elevate students the student body and to celebrate Black history.

OMB is hosting an R&B and Neo-Soul Karaoke night on Wednesday evening in the Spartans Den.

How to Vogue!

Spend an hour with OMB Thursday at the Grumbacher gym learning how to vogue! Then put your struts to the test for our high heels dance workshop.

Popular Georgia comedian Mia Jackson will be performing live on York College campus on Friday, the 10th, at 8 p.m.

Dress Down Throwback

Tuesday’s theme is 1990s to 2000s attire. Dress up or down for your favorite era and participate in picturing taking around main campus.
For the last week of February, Owning my Blackness created a Spirit Week that students and faculty can participate in, leading up to a special event.

Bring something that you find unique and personal to your culture or show off your flag to celebrate diversity on campus.

Fashion Show/ Step Show

On Saturday, Feb. 25, in Yorkview Hall, OMB is partnering with BSU to host a Fashion Show- showcasing various fashion pieces as well as models. Along with a step performance by Greek Life from York College.
